More Than a Rugby Club
The Springfield Lakes Hawks are a cornerstone of the local sporting community — building champions on and off the field since day one.
The Heart of Springfield Lakes Rugby
The Springfield Lakes Hawks Rugby Union Club is the home of rugby in one of South East Queensland's fastest-growing corridors. We exist to give players of every age and ability the chance to experience the values, fitness, and camaraderie that rugby union offers.
From tiny tots taking their first steps on a rugby field to senior players competing at open level, the Hawks provide a pathway for everyone. But we are more than just a club that plays rugby — we are a community.
Our Story
The Springfield Lakes Hawks were founded to serve the rapidly growing Springfield community, which lacked a local rugby union club. A small group of passionate rugby families came together with a simple goal: give local kids and adults a place to play the game they love without travelling across Ipswich or Brisbane.
From those humble beginnings, the club has grown to field multiple teams across junior and senior age groups. In 2024, the Hawks reached the Grand Final — a proud milestone that reflected years of hard work by players, coaches, and volunteers.
Today, the Hawks are a recognised and respected club within Queensland Rugby, known for our inclusive culture, family-friendly atmosphere, and commitment to player development at every level.
Silver Jubilee Park
Our home ground is Silver Jubilee Park, located at 7002 Russell Luhrs Way, Spring Mountain QLD 4300. The park features well-maintained fields, a canteen, shaded spectator areas, and ample parking for families.
It is a great facility for training and match days, and perfectly positioned to serve families from Springfield Lakes, Spring Mountain, and the wider Springfield region.
